C-18 ACOM Software Purchase

Issue/Rationale

Presently Forms Overlay software requires use of vendor supplied equipment that forces the District to pay maintenance for the special printers and to purchase toner from the vendor.  These printers are used for all printing requiring Forms Overlays. 

It is prudent to purchase software that allows for many general printers to be used for printing Forms in order to provide for a solution in the event of a Disaster Event.

It is also necessary to be able to print report cards on multiple printers and to reprint at Guidance and Record Secretary printers.  This is necessary in order to greatly reduce printing costs associated with a second copy of report cards. 



Recommended Action
Approve the contract with Acom Solutions.

Financial Impact

First Year purchase and maintenance cost:  $13,924

First Year Savings from eliminating Second copy of report card estimated to be  $20,000

Net first year Savings $6000

Future years Net Savings estimated at $28,000
